YAY or NAY?
These NYX Butterglosses are the BOMB! I love them. I have repurchased one of them a few times now because it's like an all time favorite, have to have color (Creme Brulee) I mean I had used it so much that the doe foot applicator was beginning to wear off lol. They are a thicker consistency, smell so good (Vanilla Cookie) , not too tacky on the lips but do have a little stickiness to them. They are pretty pigmented on their own, give a nice wash of color, not to intense and not too little. There is .27 fl. oz. in each gloss, to me that is a lot of gloss, but because I use gloss more than lipstick I go through them a lot faster. They are perfect toppers for lipsticks to give a shine or to change the color or even enhance colors. I totally love these I recommend them to anyone looking for a cheap but good quality gloss! YAY for me! You can find these at Ulta and Target or on the NYX Website. They are $4.99 each.

YAY or NAY?
The Three colors below are the colors that I own. I ordered them back in Mid. February and have been loving them since. I do plan to order more in the future. They cost $5 each. They have an almost wet feel to them and are best applied with a finger or a flat concealer type brush. The colors really stand out, you can use them as a shadow or a liner. The three I chose do have shimmer in them and glisten to pretty in the light. They just came out with some Pastel colors for spring (matte finish) and they have other finishes as well. I also think the packaging is really nice as well, all white and it has a twist off top, and has the clear top to see the color easily. I totally recommend these shadows. I can't wait to try out their new blushes! Different Finishes you will find on their website: Dare (Purple shadow): YAY GameFace (Copper shadow): YAY Ibiza (Turquoise Color): YAY I did mention these in my Jan/Feb Favorites Video on youtube, so if you want to see swatches and hear more please head over to my channel and check that video out! www.Colourpop.com When you sign up for their e-mail list I believe they will send you a $5 Off coupon. I got one when I signed up. Shipping is FREE with $30 Order! YAY or NAY?
Smashbox Primer Water: I bought this Primer water at Sephora (was in my MINI SEPHORA HAUL VIDEO) it costs $32 (OMG take a deep breath lol) It basically a setting/ prepping spray in a way. You can spray your face with this before your foundation because it has their "photo primer build into this formula" to help even out your foundation application. It smells so nice, it has a citrus smell and it's very relaxing in a way. It hydrates the skin while prepping it for makeup. I have also been using it as a setting spray after my makeup is done. It just refreshes the face and doesn't make the makeup look to "overdone" leaves you looking flawless and feeling hydrated. I love it. The spray is so awesome, it is a nice mist, it doesn't leave spots of wetness on the face that requires longer drying time. The mist is very fine and dries super fast. Over all I love this Primer water. I will even use it through out the day if I feel like my face is looking dull or cakey. It just really wakes everything up. Great product. YAY from me! Smashbox Contour Stick Trio: As we know contouring is like the thing of this decade. Everyone wants those chiseled out cheek bones and to look glamorous. I have been into contouring since early 2014 when it was really starting to come out. I was just using powders to define my cheeks, and then I would use it to define my jaw bone a little and then even make my forehead look smaller. I have been using powder for a while for contouring. ( I love the Anastasia FAWN color and the Benefit HOOLA bronzer) But I was interested in trying out a creme contour for something different. I had heard these Stick Trios were very easy to use for beginners and blend out easily. So I thought I'd give it a shot. I bought them at Sephora $45 (omg what is up with makeup prices!) I did have a 10% off coupon luckily for making Sephora VIB status. So I tried these out and used the contour stick for my cheek bone, jaw line, sides of nose and on my forehead, and I blended all of that out, and WOW, I used my beauty blender and it did the best job ever. It was very creamy and easy to blend and looked like such a natural shadow on the face. I was in love! I then used the Highlight stick to highlight in between my brows, top of my nose, top of my cheeks and in between my cheek and jaw contour. That also blended out beautifully with my beauty blender. I was feeling like a model lol. I set the highlights with my BEN NYE banana powder and set the contour with a little of the Anastasia FAWN powder. GORGEOUS! Using these Sticks was such a difference. I like a really ALMOST bold contour for certain looks and I know that I will be able to achieve it so much easier now using these sticks. I didn't use the Bronzeing Stick because as of right now I am so pale and it would just look to warm on me. But come summer time I am going to be loving all 3 of these together. I am so happy with these products.! YAYAYAYAY Oh and the Trio also comes with a sharpener since these are thicker chubby pencils. YAY or NAY?
I recently bought one of the most talked about Lip products that I am always hearing youtubers and people in general rave about. So I gave in to the temptation and purchased a Two Faced Melted Lipstick at Sephora for $21 (YIKES) I wanted a nude but hint of pink lip color (since I'm so plain lol) and chose the Melted Chihuahua color. The tube looks like its going to be a deep purplely brown color. I don't like using the samples in the store because tons of people touch them, and I am not trying to catch anything. So I went by what the tube looked like and bought the color. I went in the bathroom and tried the color on and was shocked that it looked more brown! I was a little disappointed and frustrated because I paid so much money for it. But I decided to where it around the rest of the night and see if the color would grow on me. I went by the MAC store and the girls there said the color looked nice, so I took the compliment and kept going about my business. When I got home and looked in the mirror I still wasn't sure about the color, but I noticed that it was a gorgeous matte finish (that I love) and that it hadn't come off at all. So I wore it through my dinner to see if it would come off during mouth wiped etc.. I could see a little bit of the color on the napkin but not much. OHHHH and don't let me forget the taste and smell of this lip product when your applying it remind me of Jolly Ranchers... YUMMY! anyways lol. Overall even though I wasn't thrilled with this color I am very pleased with the staying power and the matte finish. I do plan on buying another color sometime in the future. So for the Two Faced Melted Lipstick I give them a YAY But I give the melted Chihuahua a NAY, lol The picture above is of me wearing the color with a pink lip-liner base hoping to brighten it up a little. But if your into the brown lip colors you'd probably like this a lot. YAY or NAY?
Packaging on these palettes is just OK to me. It's obviously made from cardboard, nothing to fancy to make you feel like it's a higher end product. It does come with a mirror which is a plus! Another plus is that each Palette comes with a Sample (deluxe size) of their Eye Primer. I did test the primer out and I liked it a lot. Each Palette costs $42 each. Lorac Pro Palette: (warm shades) 16 shades in all. Top row is Matte shades and bottom row are Shimmer shades. - I love all the shades in this palette, you can mke so many looks with all the shades provided. They are so pigmented, a little goes a very long way. Lots of transition shades. This is an all over favorite already for me. I love warm eye shadows and I can tell come fall 2015 this palette will be working over-time. The colors are very blendable and easy to work with. - My only complaint is the fall out, you really have to tap off your brush before applying any color otherwise you'll have it all over your face. So make sure to really tap off your brush before applying to the eye. Otherwise this palette is an all around YAY for me! Lorac Pro 2 Palette: (cool shades) 16 Shades in all. Top row is Matte shades and bottom row are Shimmer shades. - I love the different shades in this palette, gives you some interesting shades to come up with looks to use them. The colors once again are very pigmented, easy to blend. Not as many options for transition shades but still workable. The palette is nice but I wouldn't reach for this very often. Its one of those palettes you know has a certain shade you want to use with other shadows you have. Not really a palette you can use to make a "one stop look". I did make a Navy Smokey eye using just the colors in this palette, (you can find that look under the MAKEUP LOOKS TAB) nothing fancy, just testing it out. I also had used the Jade color for a look on St. Pats Day, but like I said I used other brand eyeshadows to finish that look. - This palette does have the same fall out so make sure to tap off brush before applying. Overall I would say this palette is NAY for me. It's nice and the eyeshadows are great, but I like to buy palettes for "one stop looks" this didn't do it for me. YAY or NAY?
I bought this Rimmel Lip color at my local CVS (not on sale) for $7.99 I believe. I had heard good things about these lip colors and wanted to test one out. I was thinking the color would have been more of a matte finish but it was a more sheen or light gloss finish. One side of the tube is the lip color which you apply with the doe foot applicator (very sticky on the lips) then you use the other end of the tube (with the lips design) that has the clear thick gloss and apply over the color on your lips and the stickiness goes away. Once dried after about 60 seconds or so the color doesn't budge. The color withstood eating dinner and napkin wipes etc... I had to really work at this to get it off when i took a shower, even then it didn't all come off. (keep in mind I applied this late in the afternoon) This lip color really lasts and for the price totally worth it. I just wish they had some matte shades. The color I purchases was KISS FATAL There are 8 colors in total for this line, hopefully they come out with more soon! YAY for me! YAY or NAY?
The Glamglow Thirsty Mud mask.... I bought the deluxe sample size at Sephora for $20, I fell in love with this product almost immediately. My winter skin has been taking a toll on my face this year and I was desperate for something to get rid of the dry patches instantly. I tried this mask and the first use I was hooked. Its a mask that you can put on for 15-20 minutes and rinse off or you can rub it into the skin for overnight hydration. I use it at night after I cleanse my face. It has this cooling affect and smells amazing (reminds me of the beach, coconuts) I rub it into my face and sleep with it over night and wakeup and have no dry skin at all! I use it 2-3 times a week depending on my skin. I love this and I would totally invest in the full size $70. I love this I recommend it to anyone with dry irritated skin. I have been using it for a good month now. YAYAYAYAY! The Glamglow Thirsty Mud Cleanser... This is another story. I didn't want to buy the full size and end up not liking it so I got a few samples from Sephora to test out. I used it twice, and I HATE it. I don't know what is in this cleanser that is so different from the mask but it is a nightmare. It is a MUD to FOAM cleanser, well it doesn't really foam the way I thought it would either. My face around my chin around is so irritated and itchy after using this. I am not happy, I keep wanting to itch my face all day. It's as if it dried out my chin or something, and in small areas on my temples and forehead. I am very displeased and will not continue to use the samples and won't invest in the full size. the texture and smell are the same, I don't understand why the mask works so beautifully on me and the cleanser just makes me irritated. NAY for me! |
